Expanding Again: 2nd Floor and Cyberspace

Two years ago we expanded our shop to include a separate instrument showroom to house our growing collection of basses, cellos and bows. Musicians could finally try out our instruments at leisure - without having to contort themselves into a corner while dodging flying objects and rushing luthiers.

Speaking of leisure, we are currently expanding our instrument gallery yet again, both at our shop and on the web.

At our shop we converted the second floor into a fine new showroom for our instruments that includes such fine amenities as private practice room for instrument tryouts. It's a grand, wonderful space that everyone seems to be enjoying a great deal. Come down and check it out!!

Tools and Advice for the Instrument Seeker

Looking for a new instrument, more often then not, is like looking for a life partner: what you want is "someone" who understands you, supports you, challenges you, minimizes your weaknesses and generally brings out the best in you. Our first piece of advice then is: don't be shy!! Knock on all doors, visit all nearby dealers, spread your nets wide, let everyone know you are on the lookout - you never know where love will up and bite you...

Our second piece of advice is: get as much information as you can - look up instruments on the Internet, ask your teacher, talk to your stand partner, visit your local library.

On our website we have put together two pages, the Instrument Buying Guide and the Cello & Bass Atlas pages [we are still working on this last one], which we hope will provide you with some useful information. In addition, the interactive Instrument Showroom we are in the process of putting together will contain a wealth of information about the instruments and bows in our collection.
