A Little Sprinkling of Links

The wealth of music related websites on the Internet is staggering and constantly growing. The few links that we have assembled here are meant only to provide a starting point from where one can begin exploring the vast amount of resources and information about music on the Internet. We will continue adding to this list as we go and if you know of some site and/or category of sites that you think would be useful to include here, just drop us a note.

Discussion Groups:

• StringBass.com – a mix of discussion group, product reviews, FAQs and auction.
• TalkBass.com - this, I think, is what became of the famous 2XBass List.

There is a similar discussion group for cello, we have seen it, but we can't find it again. If anyone knows the address, please let us know.

• Jonas Lohse's Bass Homepage - a very useful site for all double bass players. who amplify their instruments. The site has grown considerably in the last couple of years and now includes a history of the double bass, information about bass strings and tips about buying basses.
• New Directions Cello Association & Festival - The only organization dedicated to the field of nonclassical cello music. Helping to expand horizons for cellists.
• The WWW Classical Music Library - a wealth of links to all things classical (and not so classical).
